RV Inspections

Whether new or used, RV Inspections are very important.  Many dealers have their own RV inspectors that work for them.  They may or may not disclose all they see if their is a possibility of losing a sale.  It is recommeded all units from a pop up to a Class A Diesel Pusher have a inspection from a certified RV Inspector.  You can generally choose how detailed you would like to go.  Normally I would check the following,

  • Propane System Check.  This would include a pressure check to ensure their are no leaks as well as all propane feed devices are working, to include your cooktop, refrigerator (if propane and electric) Water Heater and Furnace.
  • Electrical System-  Proper voltage at outlets, Battery Voltage, Age of batteries, Grounding of power and lighting.  This is to include AC and DC voltage.  This will also show if you have a inverter or converter issue.
  • Functional componets such as your Refrigerator and AC units, Tires tread, Hydraulic jacks, Electric jacks, Slide outs. Televisons etc
  • Water-  Pressure check of system to determine if their are any leaks, check drains for proper operation.
  • Interior and Exterior check for possibility of water intrusion,  Missing sealant around componets on roof top, no loose interior componets.

Depending on the type of service, and unit you have will depend on price.  This is a added expense but one well worth it in the long run.

Not all inspections will catch everything such as prior leaks as we cannot remove paneling and walls.
